Yes some firmwares got this problem with some modems,not all the modems.You can try and intall the working firmware with your modem.

hi, my modem is E160x and i updated with this firmware 11.608.08.02.156.B409, but first ask for code to update, when i finished and try to use the modem... no signal, i returned to previous firmware...i dont know why

Firmware 11.608.08.02.156 is customized by "3".

Do you know this fw is for Hong Kong? I've written to Huawei supprt service and they tolod me that:
Ver. 11.604.21.00.156, it is belong to Hongkong operator customization software.
It is forbidden to update to that version.Please don't update your modem.

Do you know that firmware (Ver. 11.604.21.00.156) is publically available on the three "3" web site in Australia and is the latest for E160

Who ever at Huawei told you it was for Hong Kong operator and forbidden doesn't know what they are talking about.

1000,s of people in Australia are using that firmware, and it works great.
That firmware comes on all new "3" E160 modems.

I already tried that firmware sir, but I get no signal.. So I downgrade again to my original firmware.. I see that someone has firmware 11.608.05.00.00.B409 better than my firmware 11.604.21.00.156B409, but I don't know where to find download link..
