but when I try and unlock I get:

Unlocking, please wait ...

Error connecting to server !

Error code 62

unlock failed !

and my 7 credits have somehow been wiped. Can you help?

There are no blocks on you on our server. Try to check these settings here - https://www.dc-unlocker.com/b683-det...dapter-binding make sure device that you try to unlock is on the bottom of the list, then reconnect it to pc or restart pc. Also insert invalid sim to the device before detection.
