  • Internet Connection Issue

I have a Huawei E5372T modem, locked to Telstra. I am running Windows 7 on a laptop which wirelessly connects to the Internet via a DSL router.

I have inserted a new SIM card in the modem and it displays SIM Lock on the display. When I connect the modem via USB to the laptop and run DC-Unlocker, the modem is found perfectly. But I get disconnected from the Internet so I cannot connect to the account server and proceed with unlocking. I went into the Control Panel/Network Settings and tried to change the priority order of the USB port over the wireless port but there is no difference- I can only connect to the Internet when the Huawei modem is not connected to the USB.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Try to apply new metric settings - control panel > network and internet > network connections > Right click on your device that you want to unlock connection > Properties > Internet protocol (TCP/IP) > Properties > Advanced > IP settings > Uncheck "Automatic metric". Set Interface metric as "200". OK > OK > OK
