    Hi!

Is there anybody with exeperience of using this unlocker on non-pro Mate 10, originally Chinese version AL00?

I bought the phone from Wonda, and they rebranded it to global ROM, so effectively, it is now a ALP-L29.

However, me being in Europe, some software features don't work as they should on the global version, and I want to rebrand it to European version, the ALP-L09.

I am aware that both AL00 and ALP-L29 are dual-sim versions, while L-09 is single-sim. That doesn't matter to me as long as it is 4G on that one sim and as long as I can use whole 6GB RAM and 128 GB of internal memory,

So, does anybody have a similar situation as to mine? I used to do quite of ulocking an flashing on Medatek's and Qualcomm's chipsets, and I really don't have any experience with Huawei. I don't want to brick my phone, it wasn't that cheap ....

I want to note, apparently it rarely matters which model you chose to rebrand your phone, as long as it's global. My chinese EVA-AL10 has 4gb RAM, 64 GB storage, dual sim. Changing it to EVA-L09 (originally a single SIM 3gb RAM 32gb device), my phone retained all its capabilities and specs, including being dual sim, which I didn't know was possible. I chose L09 because it normally supports LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 7 among others, just like the AL10, but unlike the L19 which doesn't support LTE band 5. But to be honest now I think that might not matter either, I'd probably retain all bands my phone originally supported even if I picked L19 (correct me if I'm wrong there).

I was going to say I'd like to have an option of converting into L29 (which has much closer specs to the AL10), but if the original specs are what always matter, then it's really not necessary.

Still, I wouldn't mind being able to go back to AL10 if possible. That'd make it easier for me to trade my phone in the far future.

Then ignore it and continue writing. Otherwise you may as well load manually phone into fastboot and start flashing from there.

Well waiting a little longer, the app returned "fastboot authorization failed" and stopped. I rebooted into recovery to try to find the update dialog tomwald spoke of, but getting update fails there. Hitting "Program phone" at this stage also fails "No devices found".

Shutdown phone, reenter fastboot, hit program phone, now it started flashing.

After download mode, it does look like it hangs in 5%. Then it moved again, on its own. It took a while but apparently finished successfully. Awesome! Great seeing this phone load up the usual Google bloatware in english instead of Huawei's bloatware in chinese! ;-) Nothing against chinese, but I had to previously struggle with enabling basic Google services like displaying photos of contacts on my phone. Not anymore!!

This has been done on the Huawei P9 EVA-AL10.

Trying with a Huawei P9. I had a different experience.

First, after choosing "update file" and waiting for the counter to get to 100% (5-10 minutes), the counts reverts to 0%, though it isn't finished until it displays the firmware info, which takes another 2-4 minutes. Hard to guess, but it sorted itself out.

Moving on, I clicked on Program phone once, it started but couldn't find the phone through adb, then hit Program phone again, this time I checked some prompts on the phone's screen, it rebooted into a white screen of "Fastboot and rescue mode" or something along those lines, other information about bootloader, then finishing with "PHONE Locked" (all in the same screen). The converter app kept doing its thing up until finishing the "Extracting customization partitions" section (the whole extracting business took maybe 5 minutes). Afer "Extracting finished", instead of moving to flashing firmware, the counter had a bar moving left and right for what seemed to be 15 minutes. Thinking maybe this was my lead to try get the phone to the mode user tomwald found, where he had to hit "Program phone" again to work, I tried all buttons in the phone, then "Program phone", nothing moved. Then I restarted, the phone loaded up normally, working normally, nothing changed (all my apps still installed, only change was that the phone displayed model number L09 instead of AL10 which it was originally.

To be honest I didn't know it was even possible to start this phone with the a firmware different from the model number. Regardless, now I started the whole process over to see what happens.

I also thought maybe to manually install the original L09 firmware now that it's recognized as L09. I don't know.
