  • DC-unlocker DONGLE

This thread should also help other DC-unlocker Dongle Users.

Cannot get dongle to unlock E160G.

Only had Dongle for 4 days.

    PC Running Vista with SP1.

    Antivirus and firewall turned off.

    No SIM card in modem.

    The modem dashboard/software turned off.

The dc-unlocker_client-1.00.0267 finds the dongle and reports the details at the base of the client.

The client also finds the E160G Modem, and reports the E160G modem and it's details.

plus, the COM ports, 3 and 4.

Not sure how to see if there are credits on dongle.

    Following these instructions..............

........Insert the DC-unlocker Dongle into a USB port and then insert the Modem(that you want to unlock) into the other USB port and press check login, then detect, then unlock.

Thanks to Vincentas, Arunas and Avantha for you patience and help.

I think I have the DC-unlocker Dongle working.

You NEED to have an Internet Connection, even if you are using the DC-unlocker Dongle.

      Then.........

Insert the DC-unlocker Dongle into a USB port and then insert the Modem(that you want to unlock) into the other USB port.

Turn off the modem connection software.

Then open DC-unlocker client software V1.00.0267 (or newer client if available) http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads

Your DC-unlocker Dongle ID and other details should be shown in the boxes at the bottom of the Client.

If asked for an email address at anytime.........select Cancel

      Then select......Server......then....press Check login,
your Password and amount of Credits will then be displayed.

Select Manufacturer, then in Select Model select the Auto-Detect option.

Press the magnifying-glass button and your modem will be detected.

Then select the Unlocking option and then press Unlock.

In less than 60 seconds your modem should be unlocked.

The details of which will be displayed in the Action/Results window in the client......see attachments

Hope this thread will help other forum members.

Thanks again to Vincentas, Arunas and Avantha.

        Dear machine,

You welcome as a dongle user.Thats why i told you to go to Server tab and check the loging. If loging is ok means, server is running and your internet connection is ok.If loging failed means server is down or you are not connected to internet. Before make any operation always check the loging first.

        BR,
        Avantha.

          Hi Avantha,

Took me a while to take your advice and turn on the LAN so the PC was connected to the internet.

          Thanks Buddy

Those instructions are spot-on. I only wish they were a lot easier to find, but!
                  G.
PS. Now to work out how to add credits to the dongle - when I went to http://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy and selected "Dongle user" and entered the s/n 2006**** (<- obfuscated - actual number entered), I just get "Dongle sn not found" even though I had just used the dongle to successfully unlock a Huawei E160e.

Please do this: Connect dongle, launch DC-Unlocker, go to server tab, click 'Check login'. After this, go to website and try again purchasing.

Do not need to do what my colleague asked.
You only need to use serial n umber that dc-unlocker software writes in left bottom corner of software window, not he one that is written on dongle and you will be able to buy credits for your dongle.
