What is the function of flashing code and with which software does it work with. Thanks for your support.

Flash code is needed when you are upgrading the firmware of some models.

I have upgraded the firmware (UTPS11.030.01.04.03.B409) for several E160g's (3UK) and fortunately have not come accross a message asking for a flashing code YET!.

Is this something that has been added recently by Huawei at the request of mobile operators so as not to allow the use of the Huawei Generic software?

Is there anyway to tell which E160's need a flashing code (apart from obviously flashing it with a dashboard firmware etc)?

Flash password asking if you upgrade firmware from different operator first time only. Dashboard upgrade not require password .
