UNLOCK button greyed out

Yhe unlock button does not work.
SIM Lock status : unlocked
Does this mean that the device does not need unlocking?

If there is not original sim (sim from other provider than device you are detecting) inserted and you see lock status as unlocked, means your device is unlocked.

I do not have the original sim and there was no sim card in the device. Can it only be unlocked with the original sim?

Do not need original. Need to insert any sim, but not original. Then will see real lock status.
