"Error connecting to server !"

I just got an account for the first time and tried to login with my details but I keep getting

"Check account status

Error connecting to server !"

and I can't seem to login, I've tried resetting my password to see if the account was actually created and I got an email back with a new password. Is it a server problem perhaps ? any idea when that might be fixed ?

I tried unlocking bootloader but I'm getting an error
