  • PayPal account hacked after DC-unlocker registration?

    Hi guys,

I've registered with the DC-Unlocker forums and also bought 4 credits with my PayPal account to unlock an old Huhawei USB modem I had and wanted to try out on a different network.

In any case, a few days after registration my PayPal account was used to pay some obscure company some money. The only site I regsitered on in the last few months was this one. It is the most logical conclusion to assume that this site was the cause for the leak.

Some advice for people out there... I have mistakenly used the same email and password as what I use for my PayPal account. This is obviously a mistake on my part but the forums are not safe. My username and password on this site have obviously been compromised... You guys should look into this.

Dc-unlocker does not collect your paypal login and other data. We only use data that you enter in fist payment page. at dc-unlocker. More you can read here: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/privacy_policy

The problem was not that my actual paypal details was collected. The problem is that i registered using the same email address and password that I use for paypal. Someone obviously got hold of this and tried it on Paypal and was able to get in.

So the problem is twofold... I was stupid to use the same email and password that I use for paypal and secondly this information was probably obtained by someone from your systems...

This is what I assumed happened... It would be good to get to the bottom of it... And maybe if this helps anyone in future... Use different passwords for all online accounts.

Sorry, but we never had similar problems. Thats why I do not think that information was obtained from dc-unlocker.
I suggest you to check your computer for keylogers and other harmfull software. Maybe this was the reason.

DC unlocker forum does not store plain text passwords (password in hash only). Please check around, maybe you have login to paypal in public place, maybe other open wireless and etc. We dont play such games, hope you will not use same passwords everywhere and find how were your paypal details stolen .

Paypal was hacked by "anonymouse" and was shut down for five hours this last week. I do not think dc-unlocker users, members or list moderators were involved. It is a good idea not to use same emails and passwords to ANY of your monetary accounts in this day and age. Even citibank was compromised this last week. Be safe out there. Love this forum for information! Keep up the good work!
