All drivers a loaded as per KB Xp download and install drivers directed as detecting Android Sooner Single ADB Interface shows in Device manager. Device is in hang mode "press the power and Vol+ keys hang mode. revcieved the following error. DC Unlocker detects ask the press the Vol- key which is done then this error is received.

Try to restart phone, remove battery for 20 seconds, place it back, repeat procedure again.
Try other USB port which is directly to motherboard (without any USB hubs).
Try other USB cable.

Still unable to unlock

Turned off phone 20 secs tried different usb ports connected to the motherboard no hubs. still unable to unlock phone.

Seems your phone might be not in fastboot mode.
You have to press and hold Vol- and Power buttons and hold them pressed till the phone is completely hanged on logo. Check in this procedure: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/huawei_u8...lock_procedure

Resolved

I have had upgrade to Windows 7 install recommended drivers follow the instructions to put into hang mode then it detects press vol- full detection then successfully unlocked.

There is a issue with XP and your client for this device not a usb or cable issue.
