Huawei E583X is supported?

Do we have to buy credits to unlock the 3 Mifi modem or is it free using the unlock software?

Unlocking this modem needs 15 credits.

Thanks all for the help I got it to work with this one:

Carrier:Cingular (USA)
APN:isp.cingular
User name:[email protected] or [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1

But the problem now it that I think is working in EDGE not 3G Any one know if there is another setting to run on 3G? The (M) now in on green any one know if green is EDGE, Thanks

I think you will not have 3G with this router in USA AT&T
I think AT&T use hi-speed at 1900 mhz., but at this frequency only edge supported .

HSPA/UMTS 2100MHz
EDGE/GPRS/GSM 1900/1800/900/850MHz

need your help.....i looking for the Huawei E583x firmware

reason : after flash the new E83Xfirmware ( netvigator...sp2 ) CAN NOT change APN

after i upgrade the below firmware ...

i CAN not amend and change the APN setting....any more

or this firmware is the apn is fixed for hk PCCW...
mean i can not use in singapore and else where

After flashing this fw, can you access administration panel via web interface at http://192.168.1.1 ?

I have my E5830 since yesterday, unlocked with dc-unlocker.com and works perfect, however it seems to have disabled access to web admin panel which is quite crucial to me.

Firmware upgrade will not lock the modem back.

This software can let your unlocked E583X change, create, and manage the connecting profile. Also, you can enable again access to web admin panel and all WiFi settings

Successfully unlocked my UK 3 E5830 wifi modem, but as I wanted the web interface at 192.168.1.1 I attempted to update the firmware mentioned previously on this thread.

It failed half way through and now I can no longer switch the modem on anymore and when I plug it into the usb port all lights come on green. Trying to rerun the update and it detects the modem but then fails when trying the update.

Has anyone had this and found a way out or have I successfully bricked the modem? Any hard reset key combination anyone know of?

I have the same - can turn it on holding 3G and power button to get the 2 light maintenance mode, but to use the firmware update gives 4 green lights and a "Unexpected Error Occurs!!! Update Wizard can not be continued."
