E169G different levels of unlock?

I got an unlock code and the modem lets me use different sim cards, but I tried to update the firmware with the 7.2 firmware on the australian site but it says its wrong and asks me for a code.

So I'm wondering if I've been tricked with a sim only unlock code or is it the wrong firmware.

It's a black E169G from 3 in the uk.

If firmware asks for code means you need to have firmware update code. Generating firmware code by dc-unlocker needs 5 credits. You can generate it free if you have unlocked your mdoem using dc-unlocker.
