  • Unlocking E620

Just used 4 credits to get an unlock code for a Huawei E620:
    35713000202**** Unlock code = 5580****
    35713000202**** Firmware code = 4167****

    AT
    OK
    AT^CARDLOCK?
    ^CARDLOCK: 2,0,26803
    AT^CARDLOCK="5580****"
    +CME ERROR: operation not allowed

    Any idea?

Could you try to unlock it using "Unlock" button in "Unlocking" tab on the software?

On the "Unlocking" tab the "Do job" button is grayed out for options "Read Unlock code and auto enter to modem" and "Read firmware code". I only have options for "Generate unlock code by IMEI" and "Generate Firmware code by IMEI", which work.

      DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1005

      Detecting modem :

      selection :
      manufacturer - Huawei modems
      model - Auto detect (recommended)

      Found modem : 226
      Model : Huawei E620
      IMEI : 35713000202****
      Serial NR. : E87NAC167310****
      Firmware : 11.16.09.11.15
      Hardware ver. : CD21TCPU Ver.B
Voice feature : not supported in current firmware
SIM Lock status : unknown(read failed)

      ================================================== =================

Sending IMEI to server ... OK !

      35713000202**** Unlock code = 5580****

      Credits left : 0

That's why I entered the code manually.

Is there card inserted when you run detection?

Yes. The E620 that's listed in the log.
Just updated firmware to version: 11.18.02.60.00
Perhaps it's the firmware that's "hard-locked"... If so, credits won't be usefull for this one..

Guess I used 4 credits for nothing. The modem isn't code-unlockable, came with 0 attempts left and 0 used.

What sim is there inserted at detect time? Original or not?

Original working SIM. But result is the same with other operator's SIM.

You get same - "SIM Lock status : unknown(read failed)" with other operator's SIM cards aswell?

Yes. I guess it's a firmware issue. After I flashed it with 11.18.02.60.00 and without entering any code:

                    AT^CARDLOCK?
                    ^CARDLOCK: 2,0,0

                    OK

                    So... wasted 4 credits
