E3131 No simcard detected after unlock

Hi

I have E3131 moden which I unlocked, without realising I needed to have the simcard from another provider in dongle before unlocking. So it was unlocked with no simcard in dongle, now it says "The SIM card has not been detected or is invalid", no matter which simcard I put. Can anyone please help me to get it working agiang. The dongle was brand new before I unlocked.

Could you detect it by dc-unlocker and paste here whats detected? Does it also not recognize original sim card that worked with device?

Thanks for the reply. No it does not work with original simcard either, but I did not try it before unlocking as I wanted the dongle to use on Gifgaf UK network.

The pc only detects it as "remote NDIS based internet sharing device" I can not get it detect it as a modem, do I need to or it should worlk as it is?

Does your device appear in my computer under CDROMS? If so, open it and save the existing files to computer. Then try to uninstall current drivers of the device and reinstall them.

I did copy files to pc and uninstalled everthing, restarted and installed again but it still can not connect to internet & come up with same error message.

I have another brand new dongle which is not unlocked. I tried installing but this one also comes with same "no sim" error. So it must be something to do with installing drivers. I have checked the device menager and it only list 2 devices
1. under network connectors "remote NDIS based internet sharing device"
2. Under USB controlers "Huawei mobile connect - bus enumerate device"

Is this correct? or should there be a modem as well?
I am sure I have isntall problem rather than anything to do with unlock. Can you please tell me what is correct procedure to install derivers for this device. At the monent I clik on "Auto run" and it does what it needs.

Yes, it is the right way to install them. Try to eject device from my computer and see if it appears differently in device manager.

Maybe there is sim problem. Sure sim correctly inserted and working?
