  • Unlocking E5380 Modem

    I am aware this has been mentioned but it seems to be all over the show and some threads have gone a little off topic.

    Please can someone do a step by step guide to unlocking this modem so no on messes it up including me. If you can include the do's and make sure you do not would be a great help .

    For example I am a little confused if I need to have any sim card in the modem when trying to unlock , do I need to new 1 or the old 1

    Please correct me if I am wrong about this process

    1) Download DC-Unlocker client
    2) Register a user name and password
    3) Buy 15 credits to unlock e5380
    4) Take out ALL sim cards from your modem ??
    5) Turn modem on ??
    6) Connect to computer ??
    7) System will now detect the modem ??
    8) Press unlock and ???? (Happens)
    9) disconnect from computer and turn off
    10) Put in new sim card

    Job done it should now work

    If any of this is wrong please can someone who knows correct it

    Thanks

        Before you put new sim card into modem, you can make check lock-status with dc-unlocker software. See " Simlock status = locked or unlocked".
        When it's unlocked than you must add a connection profile into "3WiFi Manager" for your preferred network provider, with right APN.
        You can also see if modem is locked/unlocked by the color of intensity signal led on modem (red=no signal/locked - green=good signal&unlocked blue=switch to UMTS/HSDPA service ..mean it's unlocked)

                Guide to 'setting a new profile with modem branded HUAWEI

                Insert SIMcard into modem-donlge, paying attention to the proper position of the same: see' s reference angled corner;

                Connect USB cable to the modem and to the PC;

                Wait until the installation of drivers and it's software (mobile partner or WiFi manager) ended (read the message "new hardware is ready for" use);

                Start the software, at this point we must create a new profile.
                To do this, click on Tools> Option> and than "Profile Management"

                In this screen you need to enter the parameters of APN, which vary according to the operator used.

                Click on "NEW" and in "profile name" enter the name you want to assign to the connection-profile.

                In the below "APN", tick the "STATIC" entry, so you can write the right APN.

                The APN is a crucial parameter for creating the profile. If you enter wrong parameter, you can not connect to Internet. It varies according to APN operator's used.

                In "Access Number" add *99# , than SAVE profile and click on "Set as Default" if you always want to use it.

                You can create more than one profile with more network operator, and choose what you need to start surfing.

                        I have no idea, may be you must register phone number on their website, or must call any particular number to check how much you have used...
                        visit their website or call assistance....
