  • E5220 and Three Network

    hello

I have a Three branded Huawei E5220 and have network unlocked it using DC-Unlocker, and have tested it working with a T-Mobile sim.

Unfortunately, Three have put custom firmware on these devices (think they also did the same with the E5331), and have restricted the connection type to 3G only, and a max number of connections to 5.

A standard E5220 has the ability to select between 3G/2G/Auto, and max connections of 10.

Has anyone played around with one of these and found a way to unlock those 2 features please?

    Regards
    Bozzy

I think I have changed the setting to auto using firefox.

In firefox right click on the "3G only" and select "inspect element"

a panel should appear below that show <select id="preferred_mode_select" disabled="">

Delete the disabled="" part and the box should become active for you to select "auto" and then apply.

I have set mine to auto and it stays after a restart of the device.

I have not been able to get to a non 3G area yet to test though
