Hi.
Im new to this forum but I have tried all the solutions to unlock the e5830 and im getting nowhere.
On the dc unlocker Client 1.00.0388 it never detects my card and its really frustrating.
If you can not detect modem you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the connection for this modem is closed and modem is not connected to internet
Check, if you use autodetect function in dc-unlocker software
Check, if you use latest dc-unlocker software version.
If that does not help, cehck if not other modem are connected to computer, try detecting on other computer.
Ive tried every step and it still wont read the data card. Its very frustrating. I just tried it on another pc and its the same problem.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for the help vincentas. Unfortunately I now seem to have an error code
when unlocking
manufacturer - Huawei datacards
model - Auto detect

Firmware : 666.11.81.07.106
Dashboard version : UTPS11.302.04.08.156

SIM Lock status : Locked (Card Lock)
I have a similar problem. I connected the e5830 to the computer and it was recognised no problems. I could run the 3 Mobile software and it saw the modem. I then ran dc-unlocker. The software found the modem with no troubles. I selected Unlock and the unlock process began. Unfortunately, I then got an error "cannot unlock error 21". The computer now does not see the modem and I cannot turn it on.
Any help would be great. I am afraid I have killed the modem.
FYI, I took the battery out of the modem to reset it (it was non-responsive after the first attempted unlock), and rebooted the computer. I then started the whole process again and it worked perfectly. Modem now fully unlocked and working on the Telecom XT network here in New Zealand.

I have the same problem. Tested this four times, remove battery from modem, reboot computer, always this message:
Unlocking, please wait ...
Preparing Boot Download mode ... OK
Reading Unlock code ... OK
Now press "SHIFT" key and hold while modem restarts!
Restarting modem ...
unlock failed !
(error code 21)
i have tested this with inserted SIM from other operator, message:
Be sure use latest dc-unlocker version. Check, if connection software does not launch at unlock time. Be sure use this:
1) Take out SIM card
2) Insert battery into mifi modem
3) Turn on mifi modem (only modem, not wifi)
4) Connect to PC via usb-cable
5) Install "3WiFi Manager" management software into PC
6) Wait for usb device detection
7) Close software if it's opened
8) Start "Dc-Unlocker" software
9) Choose "Huawei datacards"model let autodetect
10) If modem is not recognized by Dc-Unl., please disconnect your wifi lan from PC
11) Re-connect wifi to pc and choose "unlock"
