  • Huawei E1550 flash dislocated data

Hi! I have a E1550 locked to Kyivstar provider, firmware 02.174. Due to bad sectors some flash data is dislocated from standard addresses, but the modem functions ok with Kyivstar provider. The question is: can such a modem be unlocked through DC-unlocker? Is it safe to unlock it? Does DC-unlocker provide protection to such modems from being killed during unlocking? Thanks!

Almost all models have bad sectors. some have more, some less. 99,99 percent it is safe, but because flash is being rewrited at unlock time and if there flash will become bad sector, then modem may be killed. It may happen for 1 from 10000 modems. But then you will be able to update firmware and most of all modem will be working again. This is only actual for Kyivstar modems. Other modems are unlocking by other way.
