  • Vodafone (Huawei) K4606 replace dash how?

    Hi guys,
I have two new K4606 USB modems from Vodafone Australia.
They are supposedly unlocked but Vodas infuriating software makes it nearly impossible to apply other companies APNs and use them normally.
If the past I have replaced the on-board software with the excellent native Huawei mobile partner software I found here but things seem to have changed with these new style modems. I cant find much info on them.
I would like to be able to use other companies with them so I would like to. replace the onboard software with non-branded type if possible.
    Can anyone help?
Does this modem also exist as a Huawei branded one?

If you can not find a way to write dashboard into this new Huawei modem, then we can suggest to attempt to use it from Mobile partner that installs directly to pc not into modem. Set up file can be found in Support area page of ours https://www.dc-unlocker.com/file-lis...Not_customised

      Nice one Valdemaras.
Just one that installs straight to PC is fine, doesn't need to be onboard. So it is as simple as using the non customized dashboards? Great. I dont need to disable or change in some way the Hi-Link that the dongle installs? I can just use the dashboard from the PC, add the APN and go?

Yes, correct. Install, configure settings/apn, however this software might not function with HiLink modem, but it's worthy to try. If modem is not detected on software, try to put it into ports mode - https://www.dc-unlocker.com/huawei-h...witch-to-ports just so you know if modem enters ports mode, after you reconnect it to pc it will be normal/same as it was before - HiLink.

OK I will have a try later tonight (am in Australia).
Is there any solution with replacing the Hi Link dash yet( do we call it a dash) ? I looked at this a year or so ago and there was nothing that could be done at the time. With Vodafone K3773 I think it was.
