I am new to this whole thing,

I have a Huawei E5372T and I followed the instructions and it seemed to work, I can use other sim card, so it must have.

What happens now? Will it be unlocked forever or is there any chance it can get carrier locked again?

Once it is unlocked it is unlocked forever. if somehow it will become locked again you will be able to repeat unlock by using same username and password for free. It will not require credits.
