  • Huawei E3131 - Modem not found!

    Hi

I'm trying to unlock the Voice feature in my Huawei E3131s-2 modem.

I’ve been able to detect my modem once. This is the information I got:

    manufacturer - Huawei modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    Interface : 192.168.1.1
    Found modem : E3131
    Model : Huawei E3131
    IMEI : 86273**********
    Serial NR. : G8J4CA9**********
    Firmware : 22.158.13.00.21
    Hardware ver. : CH2E303SM
    Web UI version : 11.011.04.00.03
    SIM Lock status : unlocked
Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10)

Now, after buying my credits, all I get is this:

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1131

    Detecting modem :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    Enabling Huawei modem driver... OK
    Waiting for Huawei modem...

    modem not found !

Router IP is 192.168.178.1. Can be found via browser.
Modem ip is 192.168.1.1. Can also be found via browser.

Running DC-Unlocker as administrator didn’t help, disabling the Firewall neither.

    Any ideas?

Here can find instructions for your modem unlock: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/HiLink_m...nlock_tutorial

I followed the instructions step by step (Win 7). Still, DC-Unlocker cannot find the modem.
Now I have an additional problem: The browser cannot reach the modem anymore. The system gives out an error message 'No network connectivity' concerning 'Local Area Connection 4'. Windows can't fix the problem.
What can I do? I'm getting desperate.

Sure modem is ready to connect? Try to detect it when you are offline and computer is not connected to internet.

Yes, the indicator light is blinking green every three seconds, meaning power is on. The modem can only be found in the network connections. It can't be reached by way of browser or with DC-Unlocker, even if the computers (Win XP and Win 7) aren't connected to the internet.
Is there a way to reset the modem? Do I have to activate DHCP? If yes, how? IP address and DNS-server address (in 'internet protocol' of LAN connection 4) are set to 'automatic'. Should they be defined manually?

DHCP enabling instructions can be found in this guide https://www.dc-unlocker.com/b660-det...lock-procedure i think you can not access your device because active internet adapter and devices adapter are set under same ip 192.168.1.x, you should try to change one of them.

I tried everything you suggested on both computers: synchronising ip's and gateways to 192.168.178.x, enabling DHCP, activating automatic metric, turning off firewall and deactivating UAC. The modem still can only be found in the network connections, but it can't be reached either by browser or by DC-Unlocker. What else can be done?
BTW: Is there a way to reset the modem?

You did not understand, problem is that your router and modem is set on same root ip address - 192.168.1.x, set one of them - preferably router ip to like 192.168.2.1 etc. then apply settings, restart pc and try to detect modem.

I always used two different ip address ranges (192.168.1.x and 192.168.178.x). I tried synchronising ip's and gateways just once. Still, nothing helped so far.
Again: Is there a way to reset the modem?

We do not have such information if your modem can be resetted. at the moment it can nto be detected because your gateways are same. Nothing will change until you make one of them different like 192.168.2.x

No, my gateways are NOT the same. That was, as mentioned above, just a onetime test, because everything else didn't work.

If you claim so that gateways are not same like you provided before - 192.168.1.x and 192.168.178.x (This is not correct for detection by the way), then only solution is to check on another computer.

As mentioned above, I checked with two different computers (Win XP and Wip7). In the meantime, I also check with a third computer running Win 8 - always with the same result: DC-Unlocker cannot find the modem.

You said you can not access your modem via browser as well any more, have you checked if it even appears as network adapter in device manager? Maybe it tried to enter to ports mode and now requires drivers for it to be installed?

What drivers? The drivers that are supposed to be installed automatically are inside the usb modem that I can't reach. Does anybody know where I can get those drivers?
