  • Huawei G510-0200 not recognised

    Hi,

    Using the instructions here: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/huawei-ascend-y300-unlock

    I have tried to unlock my Huawei G510-0200. Unfortunately, my dc-unlocker cannot find the modem, even though my model is listed as supported:

    ================================================== =================

    Check account status

    User : XXXXXXXXXXX
    Password : OK !
    Credits left : 7

    ================================================== =================

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1105

    Detecting modem :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    modem not found !

    ================================================== =================

    Everything is connected the way it should be, with the USB drivers installed using the package supplied and the phone showing a pink/mauve screen.

    I have tried this on a number of computers. Any suggestions as to what is going wrong?

    I look forward to hearing from you.

    Need to detect as huawei phone, not huawei modem.
    Also, be sure that use driver that are provided in instructions link, not any other.

      Workaround

      As I said in my original post, I used the drivers I downloaded from DC-unlockers from the link in the instructions they provided. The name of the driver file I downloaded, extracted and installed was:
      U8825D_(Ascend_G330D)_U8950_(Ascend_G600)_usb_driv er.zip

      Not only that, but I did the installation on 3 different computers to be sure this problem was not just as a result of some other interfering software. All the computers had the same problem (Windows 8.1 64 bit, Windows 7 64 Bit and Windows 7 32 bit). I think the USB driver package supplied by dc-unlockers does not support all variations of the G510 phone as a result.

      In frustration, I looked around for other solutions and eventually found one that did not require the installation of drivers and other software to create an unlock code for my phone. It is a form that requires the insertion of the phone information IMEI, S/N phone product number and a captcha. It then immediately generates and displays the unlock code:
      [url******************[/url]

      The ADB package code still needs to be used to actually use the generated code to unlock the bootloader, but it worked for me the first time I tried after hours of fruitless frustration trying the dc-unlocker process. Using the web form, I was able to unlock my phone bootloader within a few minutes in comparison.

      It is a pity I picked up on this only after I had already paid dc-unlockers for credit I cannot and no longer need to use.
