  • help with unlocking E1762

Hi All, new to the forum and this unlocking business but would like to unlock bu have a few questions, well quite a lot in fact as im quite confused.

Im in Australia and have a Virgin mobile broadband branded Huawei E1762 modem and id like to unlock it. Im perfectly hapy with virgin mobile at the moment but would like to be able to choose a different ISP if there are better deals which there often are.

I have downloaded the dc software and it shows that my modem is locked and that I have 10 tries remaining. so onto the questions:

1 - To unlock the modem i need the dc software and have to pay for credits or is it free? (think i need 10 credits, unsure)

2 - The dc software will unlock for me and i can use a different isp's sim card?

3 - What about the software on the modem, currently its branded virgin mobile, can i use this software if i use a different isp's sim card? or do i need different software? if so where do i get it?

Many thanks in advance or any help
