  • Can't update E180 Firmware

    Hey Guy's,
    did a mistake and tied to update the E180 before unlocking. After I discovered my mistake I unlocked the device. But now by updating the Firmware an error massage comes up on screen and tells me that isn't the E180. I can still use the Stick for my Internet, but can't update anymore. Somebody a solution for me maybe?

    Well, I know what you problem is. May this will help you:



    You are from Austria and your modem is from Orange At, right?

    So, select the Orange AT Update.

      Well that's not right, I'm from Germany and living in Ireland and the Stick is from Meteor. But anyway I try and check this out.

        It's a debranding problem...Please do not uninstall (or good idea is to copy entire contenets of virtual cd-rom of modem dongle into a folder of hard-disk) your management software from PC, before upgrade firmware or dashboard.
        Similar problem you find in other thread in this forum with DNA firmware...

          Now, I tried to update the original firmware from my provider when there was still there software installed. The update interrupted with an error massage, there after I unlocked the divice and tried again but now is shown that the device isn´t the E180. I could change the dashbord there after but couldn´t update the firmware.

            I have a HUAWEI E180 locked to the TMN Operator in Portugal.

            Today I bought 10 credits for unlock this Huawei E180 and all went well as in your video. (fig. 1)

            But ,when I put another SIM card, of other operator, (already tried several other operators and several SIM cards), a box appears saying: It is not possible to connect to remote computer.
            Connect and try again !


            With the SIM/s from the old Operator (TMN - Portugal), the E180 works very well ! (I already tested 3 cards this Operator and all works as in the past).

            With a SIM card of the Vodafone, it is not works!!!!!

            The E180 is still closed to the old operator (TMN - Portugal)!!!??

            Please,
            What remains to be done? to open the E180 to all SIM cards of other Operators (?)

            Please, I would like to have this E180 for all Operators.

            I wait your feedback.

              Hello.
              Your E180 is unlocked - its a problem of your operators Mobile Partner that remains on your computer and is customized for your old operator(TMN - Portugal). All you need to do - open your modem software - menu - Tools - Options - Profile Management. There you need to create new profile and input dial number - *99# and APN (please select for your operator http://franson.com/forum/topic.asp?T...earchTerms=apn ). When connecting - choose the profile that corresponds to the operator the sim card is used from. If you fail to find profile management in your modem software, then you need to download debranded Mobile Watcher and use it instead your operator modem software.

                I have similar probem.
                I bought branded Bt e180 modem, and wanted to update firmware but is showing error "The wireless terminal inserted is not e180, update wizard can't work on". I use firmware E180Update_11.108.03.00.00.B409.exe which i used in past for update the same modem e180 from bt and was success. Now big problem.
                Dc unlocker showing:
                Found modem : E180
                Model : Huawei E180/E180G
                IMEI : 3561850*******
                Firmware : 11.104.16.21.00
                Dashboard version : UTPS11.300.05.15.143_MAC11.301.09.01.143
                Serial NR. : DJ4CAA19B040****
                Voice feature : enabled
                SIM Lock status : unlocked
                Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10)

                What to do?

                  Sure your modem is E180? If so, then you can try to use other firmware update file. Maybe this ill help.
