  • How to flash Huawei e5830

    I used DC Unlocker to unlock a 3 branded Huawei e5830.

    The operation was successful, then I flashed with generic firmware to enable http configuration interface.

    How do I replace the part of the flash that holds the CD-ROM files so that I can replace the 3 branded driver installation files with the generic Mobile Partner drivers?

      At moment seem that exists a unbranded "WiFi Mobile Partner", version that be installed into PC. You find it into dc-files.com.
      There are many requests for the version to be installed inside E5830.
      Alternatively you can edit your unbranded mobile partner version that you have installed into your PC to have WiFi and other feature.
      Close mobile partner, go to folder where is installed and search for "config" folder.
      After open with "notepad" the file called "PluginsConfig.xml".
      Under "plugin" edit the last row that start with "<!--item name...." and finish with "...."/-->".
      Remove the initial " !-- and final " -- " of almost all row you find into plugin section (around 11 row) and save.

      If you want you can add CALL FEATURE to Mobile partner.
      Simply add (copy and paste) this three row into plugin section:

      <item name="CallPlugin" clsid="8FC7A17B-EA76-4e6e-872D-9AAC222C8B03"/>
      <item name="CallUIPlugin" clsid="58A0343A-93DB-4ea2-92B4-C51589629381"/>
      <item name="CallLogUIPlugin" clsid="1FCAC0FF-9E87-450f-8258-1155D7696571"/>

      Modem dongle must support voice feature

        E5830 flash

        I too have now successfully unlocked my 3 branded E5830 using dc-unlocker, I've also updated the firmware to a generic one.

        The question is, can we update the '3 Wifi manager' inside the flash memory that appears as a CD (including the autorun.inf etc.) when connected via USB to a generic 'Mobile Partner'? I have a generic Mobile Partner install package, but how can it be put onto the E5830?

        I know it's not necessary since the web interface now allows access to settings, it'd just remove additional 3 branding and stop it running when plugged into a different machine.

        Thanks.

          Yeah this is it really. We need to be able to replace the CD-ROM flash area to

          1) remove the autorun, it's annoying and

          2) replace the 3 package with the generic Wireless Mobile Partner that we have.

          I did this with an E220 once - replacing the 3 branded driver installation package with the generic one, but no information yet on doing it with the E5830
