    Huawei P9Plus (VIE-L09) bricked

    I have a VIE-L09B432. I bought it as a VIE-L09C02 (Vodafone) but managed to change the CUST to C432.
    Everything was fine 'till I tried to update to B370 (coming from B360).
    Since then I the phone won't boot. I can choose the fastboot&recovery mode or eRecovery. In eRecovery it always fails to get a update package.
    In Fastboot I can't flash an image, 'cause the bootloader is locked and "oem unlock" isn't checked in developer options (but I have the unlock code).
    So I tried DC-Unlocker, but it always fails to recognize my phone (I thin it is because I haven't enabled the "manufacture mode").
    So is there any way to unlock the bootloader or flash an image using DC-Unlocker?

      I have the same Problem, tryed DCPhoenix_v35 software, but there is no "Recovery Selection" Option to selcet data from my stock-Rom (no Button is shown). What i am do wrong?

      Recovery selection is not necessary anymore, it is done automatically.

      Hi, i have had same problem with my P9....flashing report was same, some parts are locked. If you have dowloaded FW for your phone (update.app) best is original from your local Huawei sites, copy it to sdcard root to folder dload...then push volume +, volume - and power button, after huawei logo release them and update from sdcard should start...after this my phone started work...

        The method using SD-Card was my first try. It always stops at 5% no matter which version I use.
        Still no success using DC-Phoenix.

        Is there a way to flash a different recovery. I just thought about flashing TWRP instead of the original recovery. I can't enter the "normal" recovery on my phone I alwys end up in eRecovery.

          You should consider using Method 2 if Method 1 from DC-phoenix guide does not help.

            Which Firmware is save to use with the VIE-L09? As there is no firmware for this model. Only the VIE-AL10B is available, which is the chinese version of P9Plus.

              yes, it's same like i had it...but after flashing via DC-phoenix i did update from sdcard with original Huawei FW and update started...

                Ok, I finally managed to bring it back to life. Here is, what I did (Don't know if all is necessary, but thats what I did):
                First: The phone was in a bootloop, Bootloader locked and FRP locked. eRecovery didn't work, wipe cache and factory reset won't work.
                So I found a Firmware VIE-L09C432B170 which also contains the userdata.img and cache.img (note that most of the UPDATE.APP won't have them). After flashing this with DC-Phoenix I was still in a bootloop. I than flashed the UPDATE.APP of VIE-L09C02B131 (which was the version the phone came with).
                And here we go: The phone is back alive and on VIE-L09C432B131.

                  Rocksau - I am exactly in your situation! I have a VIE-L09B432 (P9 plus). I bought it as a VIE-L09C113 (Wind italy) but managed to change the CUST to C432. After that was in a bootloop, Bootloader locked and FRP locked. eRecovery didn't work, wipe cache and factory reset won't work. I tried everything but no solutions
                  Could You please link me where to download VIE-L09C432B170 with the userdata.img and cache.img?
                  I have checked everywhere but seems that links for VIE-L09C432B170 and VIE-L09C113B170 don't work. Hicloud servers down?
                  I need your help!! Once with the right firmware I will try to flash with DC-Phoenix. Thanks for the moment!!

                    Sorry for the late reply. I'll have a look today for where I've found the image. It seems that Huawei either changed the location of the files or deleted them.

                      Solved! Many thanks for your advises, very useful!! I found VIE-L09C432B170 (with the userdata.img and cache.img) and VIE-L09C113B160 in internet on other sites
                      I have flashed with DC-Phoenix VIE-L09C432B170 and than VIE-L09C113B160. After that I was able to unlock bootloader, installed TWRP and root.
                      Re-flashed with DC-Phoenix VIE-L09C432B170, and everything was ok. Automatic update to VIE-L09C432B181 and than B360 (android 7). Now I'm on VIE-L09C432B370 fully working!
