Are these modems a scam? as hauwei tech advisers have said on their forum that the hardware is incapable of supporting these speeds.

Also I have a 156 with the 169 dashboard loaded it is still simlocked(don't need to use other network still 15 mnths to run on my h3g contract) and has firmware version 11.608.03.00.156,

what would be the benefit (if any) of upgradeing to 11.608.08.81.00.b409 (i assume this is not an actual e156 version that many sites recommend.

not looking for voice call capability or anything and already have the firmware updater file (as well as a few others claimed to be compatible) but am still unsure if the risk of ruining my modem will pay of in anyway i.e. more stable connection etc.

Also as huawei have stated they only support firmware updates on newer tech, are people just guessing as to which firmware is going to be compatible from similar spec/newer models or are these modems pretty generic firmware wise allowing a lot of cross compatibility? (like the dashboard software seems to be)

Yes, is hardware not compatible it show 7.2, but really download speed max is 3.6, on the market now presents boxes to activate fake 7.2, to cheat peoples on sale.
