  • HUAWEI E5577s-321 does not recognize by Client

    Hey there!

First of all thank you to be here.
I have got some major issues with this router.

    First:
When I plug it into my PC (via micro USB) it recognizes as it is, but I can't figure out why it doesn't show me the software's partition in itself.
It looks like it is still there, and it blinks for a second but after a while it become lost and cannot access to it.

    Second:
I couldn't access to 192.168.8.1 (default ip address). Chrome, Firefox, Edge.. none of them works. It seems it's loading, and trying to load in this page: "192.168.8.2/html/index.html" but it always runs to loading-timeout.

Otherwise, the router is functional, There are Wi-Fi, accessable... I can access to it with smartphone (with using Huawei HiLink android app) and I can set up a few things, but that's all.
Except mobile broadband, because I cannot connect to it.

    Third:
I can't use DC-Unlocker Client, neither via USB or via Network.
I set it up to Autodetect, and this is what I got:

    "DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1392

    Detecting modem :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    Enabling Huawei modem driver... OK
    Waiting for Huawei modem...

    modem not found !"

    What should I do?
I started to think that this device is locked by IMEI, or is this has some electrical failure?

Could somebody please help to me? (doesn't matter where, even in PM is still good)

    Thanks in advance!

    All the best!
    Daniel

Device visible in device manager under Network adapters by default, when you try to detect it, and get "modem not found" it should appear under "other devices" or under modems/ports section. Please let us know what it is.

      Thank you for your reply!
Started to work (beginning from your informations) I made some successes, but I wasn't 100% successful.
      My experiences were:

The device's USB recognizing was a little bit strange, because basically I'm using Windows 10 but this sh*t recognize my E5577s-321 as a Generic USB device connected to USB Hub, and it has an unconnected media storage device (it should be the SD card's slot). I found out already it is a normal situation, but I still cannot see the main volume. (with autorun.exe, HiLink softwares, etc...)
In the device manager I was triing to switch the drivers to those that I found on download site - via DC-Unlocker software's link, but none of them was working with any of huawei devices.
I tried to use a normal WinXP - used with VirtualBox, but there were the same thing as I previously said.
But then I picked out my old obsolete Wyse ThinClient which runs MicroXP v0.8.
I connected my device to it, and started to try again.
For my biggest fortune I successfully changed the drivers to the new ones, and I was able to see the COM ports now. (Application Interface & PC UI Interface)

(( I just had to open the Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), then change the view as "devices by connection" and I had to look for the USB Host controller's HUB, which had numerous devices.
I found the HUAWEI device with sub-devices. I choosed the device's main entry (shown as "USB Composite Device"), right click > properties > driver tab > update > Install from pre-defined list (for advanced users) > browse for driver's folder, and from this moment, the process went smoothly. ))

DC Unlocker 2 client is now finally able to detect the modem.
By using the client I tried to change the IMEI with this command: AT^CIMEI="my_imei_number" but after pressing enter, I got a simple "ERROR" 2 rows below this entered code.

This is how it's look like right now:
      Code:
      manufacturer - Huawei modems
      model - Auto detect (recommended)

      Found Applications port COM4

      Found modem : E5577s-321
Model : Huawei AuthVer 4 modem (New)
      IMEI : 8-------------- [I](((censored)))[/I]
      Serial NR. : F5DDW16B26003394
      Firmware : 21.316.01.01.77
      Dashboard version : WEBUI_17.100.13.02.77_MRE5
      Web UI version : WEBUI_17.100.13.02.77_MRE5
SIM Lock status : Locked (Card Lock)
Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10)

      ===================================================================
      AT^CIMEI="8--------------" [I](((censored)))[/I]

      ERROR
What should I do now? What did I do wrong?
Because of I am also a user of the same provider as it's simlock, I don't really want to unlock it, just change the IMEI.

My previous second problem was that, I could not open the Web UI via Wi-Fi.
It turned out, it was not a problem. My Google Chrome was unable to load the page, but Edge and Firefox was successful with it. I was able to set everything up, except things what belongs to mobile broadband.

So, this is how I'm standing right now. Any idea how to continue?

      Thanks in advance!

We won't be able to help regarding AT commands at all. Also your device's version is not supported for unlock.

          Alright, not problem!

How should I downgrade the software? Is there any possibility to do it?

For your device version there isn't.

              Okay, I see.

Could you please tell me why is that? Why is this modem so special?

                Only Huawei can tell it.
