Hi,
I bought an unlocked Huawei B315s-22 from Amazon, but my mobile carrier is limiting me to their 2G network. I also have an Alcatel hotspot that runs at full LTE speeds. I'd like to clone the Alcatel's IMEI number onto the Huawei device so I can get full LTE speeds on it.
However, I can't seem to connect to it over USB. I've got a MacBook Air and an Asus laptop running Windows 10. No luck with either one, and I also can't get it to even show up as an active USB device to share with a VirtualBox Linux VM on my Mac. On the Windows machine, I've installed various Huawei drivers (including the ones from the B315s-936 Huawei support page (the B315s-22 support page didn't have any drivers on it), but I don't see anything in the device views when I plug in the USB cable.
I've tried the first set of unlock guide instructions, but haven't tried the second (LAN) set since I don't believe I need to do a firmware install. I've tried with and without my SIM card, and with and without the power-wps reboot routine.
Any thoughts about what might get things going in the right direction, or some other means of cloning the IMEI number?
Thanks,
-Patrick
