  • Problem with E5830 MiFi

    Hi

I was wondering if someone could help me.

I've just purchased a brand new E5830 MiFi on 3UK network.

I want to unlock it and have downloaded DC-Unlock.

When I click the Auto-Detect feature, DC-Unlock correctly finds the E5830 but informs me the unit is unlocked already! Surprised at this I've tried an Orange sim in it to be told that the SIM installed is invalid so I assume the unit isn't unlocked which is no surprise seeing how I've just bought it.

Why is DC-Unlock detecting that it's already unlocked when it obviously isn't?!

    Cheers

    Mark

I perhaps should also mention that I upgraded the firmware to 666.11.17.07.108SP02 from netvigator.com in order to open the Wi-Fi Management interface on 192.168.1.1.

At the end of the day, I just want to unlock it? How can I persuaude DC-Unlock somehow that it is sim-lock in order for it to allow me to sim-unlock it?

What sim was in modem when you were detecting it? Try to detect with no sim card inserted. What lock status you see then?
