  • Huawei flashing confusion

    Hello guys

I have problem with understanding flashing procedure of Huawei phones. For example my latest killed P9 EVA-L09 model:
Phone was working, but I decide to upgrade firmware to latest one from support area. I have read information about phone with HCU client- Model is EVA-L09, Vendor- hw and Country - eu. So- pure open europe model. Then I have check current firmware version- EVA-L09_C432_B160- firmware is also open europe, but old one (android 6)
Next step is support section and looking for some latest europe firmware. To be sure phone will be fully flashed I have download full firmware (update + cust file) EVA-L09_C432B390_Firmware_France_Germany_Italy_Portuga l_Belgium_Spain_Switzerland_Netherlands_Nonspecifi c.APP - sounds good, and there is also proper customization file- update_EVA-L09_C432B390_hw_eu.APP. So run DC Phoenix, set update and customization file, vol down, plug USB cable, flash and... dead phone. DC Phoenix flashed phone correctly in fastboot mode, but stuck on update mode- error flashing VERLIST partition. What am I doing wrong? Phone and downloaded firmware was open europe. Did I make too big jump from 160 to 390 firmware version? Or I missed something else? Same situation with older models- p9 lite and p8 lite. Both models are restored to life by flashing with many different firmwares, some just start working. Is there any proper flashing method without killing huawei phones? Or before flashing I should set hw/eu parameters no matter it's already correct or not?

It clearly wasn't meant for your phone if you "killed" it. If there is upgrade for your phone you get notification on phone for ota update to begin with... never, i repeat NEVER flash firmwares you think is latest version for your phone - all latest updates you get on phone directly. This is the only proper flashing. If manufacturer provides updates to new versions for your phone in form of files, then they can be flashed via sd card.

Now for repairing, if method 1 from DC-phoenix guide does not help, use method 2, this one revives phones 100% if all done correctly, otherwive problem in hardware.

HW is ok, phone back to life after flashing with another file: EVA-L09_C432B361_Firmware_Europe_Western_Nonspecific.a pp, So, with older one. I just need some working and fresh firmwares for few models because I cannot flash every phone I have repair via WiFi- step by step, version by bersion. It take too much time.

Sadly we can not help with locating correct updates and files for any specific phone.
