I am getting the very same error, although DC Unlocker does find the Applications port. Afterwards I successfully downgraded from EMUI Build 8.0.0.193 to Build 8.0.0.163. However it did not help to alter the metioned behaviour of DC Unlocker. Security Patch Level is 5th Decemeber 2018. If there is no possibility to obtain bootloader code, I would like to get refund. However, I would prefer to get the bootloader code if there is a chance left.

hi guys,
I had the same problem yesterday and solved it. my solution is;
- install hisuite to pc and downgrade android 8 to 7
- then give a try to get bootloader code via dc-unlocker (4 credit)
and it's done !

if your phone is on android 8, it's not possible to get bootloader code due to android 8 security patch that's why you need to downgrade to make it
