  • testpoint recovery procedure for P10 / VTR-L29

Following your instruction from this thread (Where "DC-Huawei Converter (beta)" appeared to have hard-bricked the P10 device I was running it on)

I have performed the testpoint procedure and I now have a "Huawei USB COM 1.0" device successfully installed in device manager. I have purchased the 72 hour timed license, run dc-phoenix, used download files to search for "vtr test" and I have the following two options to choose from:

    Code:
    VTRAL00M00A047_Board Software_China_Nonspecific_Android 7.0_EMUI5.1_05022AVG._inc_testpoint.dgtks
    https://get-file.org/getf/2da943c7584b7c0742627e96694ad6e5

    Huawei P10 · Modification: VTR-AL00 · Codename: Victoria

    Huawei P10 · Modification: VTR-AL00A · Codename: Victoria
The hardware is a VTR-L29 originally C636, with attempted C432 conversion
dc-phoenix seems to see it as: "Current version: VTR_C900_EMUI8.0"

Which one of the above two testpoint images is the correct one to use? ... "Modification: VTR-AL00" or "Modification: VTR-AL00A"?

Any, it doesn't matter what board firmware you are going to use at all...

      Using the testpoint recovery file:
      Code:
      VTRAL00M00A047_Board Software_China_Nonspecific_Android 7.0_EMUI5.1_05022AVG._inc_testpoint.dgtks
dc-phoenix appears to flash the testpoint file but does not proceed further.

      Log file:

      Code:
      The file was loaded successfully

No devices detected in fastboot mode
Error detecting device in fastboot mode
14/08/2018 16:46:42 Writing device finished OK
The device not not reload to fastboot and it is not possible to manually start in fastboot.

The recovery guide says : "if flashing stuck and phone does not flash automatically in Upgrade mode disconnect phone from PC. Restart phone, put it manually it Upgrade mode (usually it's done by holding both vol buttons and power button - may differ by phone model) Connect to PC if not already connected and press Update on DC-Phoenix again (Software restart may be necessary)."

When I attempt this, the Huawei COM port device disappears from device manager, but no new devices appear. It does not seem to be entering any form of upgrade mode with the three-button press combinations that used to work for this purpose.

It is possible to get back to testpoint mode again.

What do I need to do to complete the recovery process from here?

        Hello?

Is there any way to complete the recovery process?

Is there anything further I can attempt with one of your products before my 72 hour license runs out?

If phone does not boot into fastboot upon flashing board software via testpoint, then no way out, only main board replacement.

            Ok, a dead end

So as the software does not deliver what the guide said it would, can you please issue a refund for my license purchase?
