"no response" error when trying to read MediaPad M5 Bootloader Code

Hi,

I a trying to to retrieve the bootloader unlock code for the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4" Wi-Fi only model. The model number is SHT-W09.

I had troubles along the way but managed to get to the final step which won't work for me. DC-Unlocker detects the device, as Huawei HiSilicon Kirin Android (new).

In the Unlocker tab I click, "Read Bootloader Code". It takes between 1 - 5 seconds, and then says "no response". I've tried this over 20 times now. I moved the USB cable to a different port, enabled ADB-debugging via charge mode, and other things and nothing seems to work.

I tried with DC-unlocker client software V1.00.1403 and V1.00.1396. V1.00.1403 says it supports the Mediapad M5 specifically.
I am using Windows 7 Pro edition.

Any ideas?

Try to use HCU client software. More information here: https://hcu-client.com/
Same account will work.

Thanks for the response. I installed it, ran into an issue where I was missing a C++ library, and fixed that. Then it starts and says it (HCU client) can't run in VirtualBox. I run Ubuntu on my laptop and my other laptop runs macOS.

What other options do I have for this? I already paid for the 4 credits.

Yes, HCU work on windows computers (not virtual) only. Option would be to find windows computer.
