Backup of firmware possible?

    Backup of firmware possible?

    DC-unlocker gives me:

    manufacturer - Huawei datacards
    model - Auto detect

    Found modem : E1550
    Model : Huawei E1550
    IMEI : .....
    Firmware : 11.608.14.11.00
    Dashboard version : UTPS11.302.06.07.40_MAC11.301.09.07.40
    Serial NR. : ....
    SIM Lock status : Locked (Card Lock)
    Voice feature : disabled
    Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10)

    afaik this seems to be a very new firmware...dashboard is not the latest..
    however, before I try things on this stick I would like to make a backup of the firmware (german O2 branding), since my provider isnt offering software to restore the stick.

    So.. is there a tool that makes a (re-usable) backup of the firmware?

    Dc-unlocker can not do it. Sorry, do not know any tools to do it.
