  • HUAWEI 172 unlock did not work

    huawei e172, vodafone/sfr locked dongle
    bought 4 credits
    downloaded app
unlocked dongle - got "success" message, and my credits were consumed.

tried with my orange SIM - i get the following message:

"You must be in the vodafone network to make a data connection"

    what now?

You need to use another software management than vodafone.
You can choose to debrandize internal software of modem dongle, or simply install into PC unbranded Mobile Partner software management dashboard by Huawei.

hi fakiro, i apprecaite your help - but, did not work.

i tried forst to simply install the mobile partner software - but it did not see the huawei device.

so i uninstalled it, debrandized teh card with E172_Dashboard_WIN_UTPS11.030.01.04.03.B409.exe and let it install Mobile Partner itself...to no avail.

the mobile partner s/w does not see the device - eventhough it is properly recognized by windows (verified in device manager, where it passes the diagnostic tests).

      any ideas much appreciated.

        Connect E172 to USB and re-install Mobile Partner software...goto installation folder ( x:/program files/mobile partner/driver) and double-click on file "DriverSetup.exe".
This switch modem to be recognized with right driver

          still not working

hi fakiro, tx for the pointer, but, still, no joy...

re-ran the driversetup.exe utility, with win messages of "your hardware is properly installed", and culminated by firing up the mobile partner application - but, it still can't see my modem.

this here is what the log shows:
