error 24 on E5830

I tried unlocking my e5830 using the latest client 460, and the message i get is:
Unlocking, please wait ...
Preparing Boot Download mode ...
unlock failed !
(error code 24)

the power of the MiFi stays on, I have to remove the battery to switch it off and on again. Somebody kindly tell me what am doing wrong, better yet, post a simple step-by-step tutorial. Thank you
