  • P10 VTR-L29C432B384 bricked by update

    Hello,

I have bricked VTR-L29 by flashing oreo B365 over B384 with HWOTA method. Now the phone don’t turn on, don’t charge, when connected to pc only shows as ‘usb ser’ I would like to try fix it but I’m new here and need a brief guide how to start. How much credits do I need and what steps should I take to have some hope for making phone alive.

Can read DC-phoenix method 3, if you understand it can try it, otherwise i would not suggest it since it requires great knowledge from user side about it.

Testpoint should be shortcircuit all the time or just till pc recognize phone properly ?
As far as I know no one did manage to unbrick so far and flashing crashes on bootloader. What is more on mate series similar brick is caused by some changes in xloader, huawei add 02 switch with gpu turbo patch.(source: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...sions-t3864940)
According to this topic: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...2b147-t3817241 I did check xloader images from VTR firmwares and yes there is same difference as in mate 9 also 00 or 02.

I thought if it would be workable in some way to replace xloader.img in board firmware used by dc-phoenix ? What more when open board firmware in dc there is a list of erase commands and I wonder if it would be possible to modify it to try flashing only the xloader ? Sorry for being inquisitive noob but I wouldn't to mess up more in the phone and also gain a little bit of this great knowledge.
