  • Honor 8 Not Detected - No Modem in Device Manager

    I'm trying to get the software to detect my Honor 8, this is all I get:

    ================================================== =================

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1413

    Detecting phone :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei phones
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    Found Applications port COM7

    ================================================== =================

    My Device Manager doesn't show a Modem section like show in the tutorial picture:

    Instead, the Device Manager has an "Android Phone" section that shows "Android Composite ADB Interface" and "Huawei HDB Interface"

    The phone is running Android 7.0 EMUI version 5.0.4.

    Running Windows 10 for the DC Unlocker client; running the program with admin rights; I have the latest HiSuite installed.

    On another note, If I do select Honor 8 in the phone list and Com8 for the Diagnostic port (which the image shows is the DBAdapter Reserved Interface com port) and then detect, Windows says the software is not responding.

    I've also installed the Huawei Bootloader app from play store, but all it does is bring me to a payment screen that says I'll get an account and then to use the DC Unlocker client for Windows. I thought the program would just read the code from the app if I paid for it?

    I haven't bought any credits yet, and don't have an account. I was trying to get the software to detect the phone first before buying. Do I need to have the credits first for the phone to be detected? If not, what else can I try to get the bootloader unlocked?

    Attached is a screenshot of the Device Manager and DC Unlocker client.

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    This means that current version of android in your device has new security patch and is not supported yet. Should I check for refund? If so let me know your username.
