  • Problem Unbricking Mate 9

    Hello!
I'm trying to unbrick my Mate 9, I already did the ultimate stupidity of Trying to to FRP Unlock with DC-Unlock first, then realised this was wrong, now I have Phoenix limited and I'm already 34€ into this, please help!

My phone is only starting to fastboot and eRecovery. In eRecovery it is not recognized by DC Phoenix, in Fastboot it finds the phone

My current firmware is reported as "MHA-L29C432B198"

I cannot get the phone in "upgrade mode" or I don't know how.

When I try using the firmware from the support area, I have tried

    MHA-L29B_C432B185_Firmware_Switzerland_Nonspecific_And roid7.0_EMUI5.0
    MHA-L29B_8.0.0.364(C432)_Firmware_05014BFF
    MHA-L29B_8.0.0.363(C432)_Firmware_Serbia_Portugal_Belg ium_Spain_Denmark_Netherlands_Germany_Switzerland_ Italy_Bosnia_and_Herzegovina_Nonspecific_05014BFF

On all three of these the phone is rebooted, but then DC Phoenix cannot find the phone in Upgrade mode and the Phone displays "Installing Update 5%" - nothing more happens

I have also tried downloading "MHA-L29C432B198" from the internet and extracted the update.zip and selected the .APP file from it, but then I get this:

    Build number: :MHA-L29C432B186
    Model: MHA-L29
    Battery state: 5591mv
    OEM lock state info:
    FB LockState: LOCKED
    USER LockState: LOCKED
    OEM get bootinfo:
    locked

    Process identifier:19314358

    Getting build number...
    Getting base version...
    Getting cust version...
    Getting preload version...

    Erasing ver .. .
Cannot get FBlock info from device
    Trying to unlock device...

Signing process may take few minutes

Trying to get data from server

    Erasing ver .. .
    File size: 4.081.495.836 bytes
    Current version(CURVER): MHA-C999B000
    Writing rescue_recovery partition
rescue_recovery partition UPDATE :FAIL image verification error

    Cannot enter in Recovey mode

    Please Help :-(

      Step 1

Rewrite OEMINFO -> I did, seems to have worked

After rewriting OEMINFO you will be able to write any region's file once. -> I don't know what a "region" file is, I don't have a "region" file, so I cannot complete this step.

      Step 2

Write full stock ROM firmware (and customization) file from DC-Phoenix support area (or elsewhere) in fastboot with DC-Phoenix.

Select "Standard" mode. DC-Phoenix will flash phone in fastboot and finish flashing in upgrade mode at once.

-> As I said in the first post, this does not work, no flashing in upgrade mode. it just hangs at 5%

I guess I will just try "Method 2" then...

Okay, with Method 2 I got much further, it actually started to update in upgrade mode, but then it stopped with an error writing system, see attached image, now the phone is stuck in upgrade mode at the moment, I'm a little afraid to reboot. hopefully I am still able to enter fastboot...

Is this a bug in the software or is method 2 also no good for me?

You must put a check "old slow algo" option for your mobile.
