  • Huawei K3772 Voice - How to activate voice feature?

    I am trying to get the Voice feature up and running on a K3772 dongle ("Vodafone K3772 Voice" dongle to be precise).
    DC-Unlocker software reports the following:


    manufacturer - Huawei modems
    model - Huawei Vodafone K3772

    Selected Applications port COM6
    Selected Diagnostics port COM5

    Found modem : K3772
    Model : Huawei Vodafone K3772
    IMEI : 861320003361508
    Serial NR. : W5T5TA9381202424
    Firmware : 21.157.40.10.11
    Compile date / time : May 22 2012 19:07:58
    Hardware ver. : CH2E303SM
    Dashboard version : UTPS23.015.02.00.03_MAC23.015.02.00.03
    Chipset : HiSilicon
    SIM Lock status : unlocked
    Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10)


    So it does not even mention the Voice feature and in the DC-Unlocker software the Activate Voice button is shaded out.


    The product itself carries the imprint:

    Vodafone Mobile Broadband
    Voice
    Model: K3772
    HSPA USV Stick
    Huawei Technologies Co.Ltd.


    I would appreciate your support on how to acitvate the voice feature of this dongle.

    Doesn't seems that firmware of your modem supports voice.

      Hi Valdemaras,

      that's exactly what I thought first, but in this forum I came across a post from Excitatos (copied at the bottom of this message) who seems to have exactly the same type of Huaweis K3772 Voice" with respect to firmware and hardware version...
      ... and his DC-Unlocker Client does report the availability and activation of the voice feature and mine does not:

        Its firmware is not quite the same if you look closely into version numbers. Also he did auto detect while you selected com ports manually which in general is bad.

          Thanks a lot for your support, Valdemeras.

          Well, you are certainly right, the firmwares are not identical.
          I thought a later firmware version should include all the features of the previous one. But certainly this can be wrong.

          With respect to autodetection in the DC-unlocker client, after updating the client I did the modem detection in auto detect mode. The result remains the same. No mentioning of the voice feature which to my understanding should be supported by the hardware of the stick.

          Now, assuming that the firmware makes the difference in terms of the voice feature, I wonder whether it is possible to downgrade the firmware loaded on my K3772 (and how, as I said above I am a newbe on this)?

          On the DC-unlocker page I didn't find any reference to the K3772 firmware ( https://files.dc-unlocker.com/user.h.../5163237a56459 ).

          I would appreciate if you could help me with your guidance on this.

            Sorry, we do not have assistance for flashing as it is used only by other services and people that understand hardware of the modem. I can not suggest you to attempt it as it may end up horribly wrong and render your modem unrepairable by any service.
