    I'm incredibly frustrated with DC-unlocker. I bought the software and was disappointed. It fundamentally didn't deliver the service I bought it for (unlocking a Huawei modem, which was on the compatibility list, for use on another network). I complained and was told that I'd used the credits and I should try the forum for help! This kind of "not our problem" attitude is ok for open source, but outrageous for paid software.

    Now I have been signed up to an email newsletter that keeps darkening my inbox. I have to waste my time unsubscribing.

    Overall I think this is the single worst online software experience I've had in the last few years. Very unhappy

      Dc-unlocker software is used unlocking. In one of your posts you write: "I successfully unlocked my E5830 with dc-unlocker" So, modem was unlocked and dc-unlocker software did its job.
      About how to configure your modem after unlock you should read in modem instruction. I and other forum member tryed to help you and you received answer same day as wrote the post. But there was no your answer any more. And now you say there was no help.
      Unsubscribbing is very easy and does not take time. You only need to press 1 link.

        That's a partial quote. I actually said:

        "I successfully unlocked my E5830 with dc-unlocker, but I still can't connect using a Vodafone SIM. I don't know why yet."

        It later emerged that while DC-unlocked said it was unlocked:

        1. I could not use the software I had to find on the forum to configure the modem to connect using the foreign SIM card.
        2. I could not access the modem's configuration screen.
        3. I could not run any of the firmware updates I found, and I had to dig through the forum and reading many conflicting bits of advice.

        That would have been fine if this was a free service and I were an enthusiast trying to mess with a bit of hardware, but you (mis)sold me a service on the premise that I would be able to do something that I still cannot do. In your marketing material you state:

        "Unlocking Your Data card easy"

        and that

        "It is fast ( takes 5 - 60 seconds to unlock)"

        It is neither fast nor easy. I would have liked your website to have clearly stated that:

        "In order to use your E5830 modem as a standalone device, you will have to unlock it using DC-unlocker, search for then apply a firmware update that only works in Windows XP, which many users have had trouble with because the manual instructions are not complete."

        Needless to say, I would have not purchased your software!

        Yes, it takes me a while to reply sometimes because I have lots of other things going on in my life, but I do generally reply as soon as I have the time. Your last post:

        "Sorry, refund is not possible, because service was used and credits were spent."

        which I am quoting completely, didn't really seem to be asking for a reply. Given the problems I was encountering, it was not helpful to me.
