Testpoint mode is a black screen, but the phone (if installed) appears under the ports section in the device manager as "HUAWEI COM 1.0", if not installed then it should appear something like "USB ser" with "!" or "?" mark next to it. If neither of them is visible then the phone is not in testpoint mode.
