Can't get P20 Pro into Software Testpoint mode

I'm trying to unlock the bootloader on my P20 Pro, and I've bought a 3 day subscription, but I'm having problems getting into testpoint mode. I open up DC Phoenix, and select "Enable Software Testpoint" and click go, and it outputs:-

And then the program stops responding.

Any ideas how to get past this?

The phone shows up in the bottom left panel as "Huawei HDB Interface" and "Android Composite ADB Interface". Is that how it should show up?

I've tried contacting live support about this, but it never seems to connect.

What android your phone is on? Have you tried other options for software testpoint as mentioned in tutorial? Also not all phones even supported are available for this and have to use hardware testpoint.

I've tried all 3 options from the tutorial with the same result. The phone is on Android 9. How would I find out if the phone supports software testpoint? Thanks

You can find it out only by trying and if all 3 methods ends up same then only option is hardware testpoint.
