    Hello,

    thanks for providing your service.

I just bought 4 credits in order to read the bootloader code of my Huawei Mate 10 Lite.
I am a bit confused, though, as to the supported Android version, as I got some conflicting information:

https://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy: Android 8 and later require HCU Client and time license
https://hcu-client.com/buy/: *below* Android 8 require DC-Unlocker credits, *above* Android 8 require DC Phoenix and time license — but what about Android 8 itself? Is it included in the former or the latter category?

My Mate 10 Lite is running Android 8 and is supported by DC-Unlocker. Can I use it to read the bootloader code, or do I need to downgrade the firmware to Android 7 first?

    Thanks in advance.

    David

Android 8 on DC-unlocker will work only if device runs 2018 security patch, otherwise need time license and use HCU tool while your phone connected via testpoint.

Thanks for the swift reply. I have downgraded my firmware so using DC-Unlocker should work now.

However, when I launch DC-Unlocker, I get an error message: "Error 16". When I press the OK button, DC-Unlocker aborts. What does this mean and how can I prevent this from happening?

I am running DC-Unlocker on Windows 11 in a Parallels virtual machine.

      EDIT:
Never mind, I was able to overcome this by placing the DC-Unlocker directory inside C:\Program Files (x86).

        I need some additional assistance.

Although my model is listed on your website as supported (https://www.dc-unlocker.com/android-feature-table),
DC-Unlocker says my phone is not supported.

        - Huawei Mate 10 Lite
        - Android version 7.0 (EMUI 5.1), Security Patch 1. June 2018
        - Build Number RNE-L21C432B138 (official Huawei firmware installed through manufacture mode)
        - Successfully installed Windows USB drivers
        - Successfully logged in with my DC-Unlocker account (4 credits)

        I get the following output:

        ===============================================

        DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.1441

        Detecting phone :

        selection :
        manufacturer - Huawei phones
        model - Auto detect (recommended)

        Found Applications port COM5

This phone cannot be serviced with DC Unlocker, but may be supported in Test Point (software or hardware) by HCU software, check https://hcu-client.com/category/tutorials

        ===============================================

When I press the "Unlocking" button, I only get the "Lock Bootloader" button and a grayed out "Network unlock" button. No "Read bootloader code" button.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

        David

DC-unlocker or any of our tools will not work on virtual machine as intended. Detect this same phone then on HCU, use same account as you are using on DC-unlocker, detect using same method as on DC-unlocker.

HCU unfortunately says "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine."

I fear I'm going to have to request a refund, as I don't have a Windows machine at my disposal.

This week I installed Windows on my Mac with Boot Camp and tried again. Unfortunately, I am still getting stuck.

                1. DC-Unlocker gave the same output like before:

"This phone cannot be serviced with DC Unlocker, but may be supported in Test Point (software or hardware) by HCU software, check https://hcu-client.com/category/tutorials"

                2. HCU now gave me another error upon launch:

"The procedure entry point META_MISC_GetIMEIValue_r could not be located in the dynamic link library meta_dll.dll"

Can you explain this, please? As I am not in a virtual machine anymore, I really don't understand why neither of the two apps are working for me. Is there still a difference with Windows on non-Mac hardware?

                  1. Means the security patch is still too high.

                  2. install vcredist_x86 2008 (regardless of your windows version) update: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=26368 install this windows update and try again.

                    1. So security patch of 1 June 2018 is too high?
                    2. I'm running Windows 11 though — is it even possible to install this security update? In any case, I'll try and report back.
