Hi all

Im just starting out .... please could someone advise me on the below questions cheers

After i have unlocked the usb dongle , do i just put the new sim in the dongle and the settings will be sent by the network to the sim ,or do i have to put the sim in a phone 1st ?

Also , when updating the firmware on the dongle , will this clear the settings for the sim card once the sim card has been registered

After unlocking the modem you will need to use unbranded connection software (if you connection software will not accept other provider sim card). Yes, you will need to add them manually.
No, updating the firmware will not clear the connection settings. Connection settings are kept in modem connection software, the software installs to pc.
