  • E5380 in Australia

I have a UK E5380 on the Three network. I unlocked it few months ago and it seemed to work fine as I tried a couple of sims in it. At the time I had presumed it was completely unlocked and would work worldwide - however I am currently in Australia on holiday and have found that it doesnt work. I had bought a Telstra sim card before I came out and have been in the Telstra shop and got it activated and recharged - but it wont connect. I am getting the connection and the wireless light on, but the Roaming light is flashing and while my laptop connects to the modem, it says there is no internet access.

Does anyone know if the modem should be working worldwide and if there is anything I can do to make it work while I am here in Oz?

    Cheers

After unlock modem should work with any sim. Check, if sim is working. Also check the connection settings. Maybe this will help.

You have change the APN name to telstra.internet and set it to '3G preferred' as Telstra Next-G runs mainly on 850MHz, except where shared with Three.Au on 2100MHz in capitol cities.

You may need to upgade the connection software.
