Picked up a Huawei U8100 from Wind mobile in toronto. DC-unlcoker doesnt't see the phone.

    Detecting phone :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei phones
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    Phone not found !

I've got it powered up and plugged into usb. Windows XP recognizes it and starts up the file transfer software.

If you can not detect you should check the fallowing:
Check, if the drivers are installed
Check, if the software is closed

      Huawei U8100

Well, windows detects the phone, and the file transfer software opens, so I think the drivers are there.

What do you mean by "check if the software is closed?" Is the purpose of unlocking to unlock the software? The phone is a new Wind Mobile phone (a new Canadian carrier)

I mean you need to close phone software before you detect phone.

          Huawei U8100 - can't detect phone

Ok. So I'm not clear on how to go about doing that.

When I start the phone, if I have a "disallowed" sim card in it, as soon as Android boots up I get a "com.android.phone has stopped.." message. Then anything I do brings up this error message. If I use the "allowed" sim card, I do not get this message. But using either card, I can't get the software to see the phone.

I'm guessing there is some process that runs at startup which checks the sim card. I guess it is this software I need to stop. But how do I do that? I don't see anything under the "running services" listing that looks like it. And I tried disabling a few of the listed services, but to no avail.

          Any assistance is appreciated.

detecting wind mobile "u8100" aka u8109

For those who can't get their phone to detect, all the drivers install when you first click on "start mobile modem". Once that's done, dc-unlocker will successfully detect the unsupported "U8109". Hopefully they'll release a new version soon. It's the weekend, so live chat is offline. I was hoping to unlock today, as I'm flying out of the country about 12 hours. Oh well, no big deal.
