  • Only got partial VOICE support on Huawei modem after Dc-unlocker patch

I've added voice capability to a Huawei E1752 hspa usb stick modem, but found 2 problems:

    - I can call people, and hear what they say through my laptop's speakers, but people can't hear me talking. (any sound card hack for this?)

    - People cannot call me. They get the message "the subscriber is not available.."

Seems that e1752 does only support voice partially, despite the dc-unlocker hack.

How well does Vodafone K3765 or K4505 support voice? better ones?

Try to use this conenction software: http://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads/get/LihV26NW
Also can try to change firmware version. Check, if you have microphone conencted or built in laptop.

      Thanks for your reply.
I was already using the suggested Mobile Partner version.
The mic should be ok. At least it works on Skype.

As for the firmware change.. I am a bit lost. I guess I should find the firmware of a modem that is known to support voice, such as Vodafone K3520 (huawei e169). Then flashing with dc-unlocker... But how safe is to do this, and how likely to succeed? is it reversible?

No, flashing is not by dc-unlocker. Firmware update is not 100 percent safe. You need firmware for exact model.
Sorry, do not know why voice does not work. Could you try on other computer?

What firmware version you have on your E1752?
I've updated any E1752 and voice enabled on it, with firmware v. 11.126.11.00.00

Your replies are of much help to me. Thks m8s!

            My firmware is 11.126.08.02.18

There is a firmware update at Dc-files.com, E175XUpdate_11.126.11.00.00.B418.exe.

But when I try to update it prompts:
"The source version isn't compatible with the target version, before updating please input the password:".
            ...

@Fakiro: where did you get that firmware version from? I would like to install that one since it works for you

@Vicentas: can i flash with dc-unlocker and bypass that password thing?

Version that you find on dc-files is good.
You must only generate firmware-code via dc-unlocker client software.
Copy the code and close dc-unlocker software.
Paste the code into the flashing request step.
After flashing it, check if it have already voice enabled and goto test voicecall

Ok, so the password for updating firmware is the flashing code given by dc-unlocker together with the unlocking code.

Fakiro, you really can receive calls on a e1752?
I updated firmware to 11.126.11.00.00 but the problems persist.

Problem A: People cannot hear me.
Possible causes: My computer is prehistoric, doesn't have dual sound card... When I talk I can hear myself from the headphones, so it's like the mic sound going to the speakers instead of Mobile Partner. Trying it on a newer computer should clear things out a lot.. but none available atm

Problem B: People cannot call me.
Possible causes: I can't help thinking this country's operators dont allow folks to use their computers as mobile phones. Maybe they can know which device one is using and disallow incoming calls if that please them... I dont know.
Maybe I should highlight that I am trying to place and receive calls from numbers that have no data plan, just voice like all sim card few years ago.
Tried with 2 different sim cards with same results.

So, gonna take a real one on this... then, resignation

Thanks for your help, Fakiro, Vincentas

                  Just one more thing.
In the lower right hand corner of Mobile Partner's window, it displays:
                  WCDMA voda... (Roaming)

Roaming??? WTF, isn't that suppose to happen when you try to use your mobile phone card abroad?

Maybe it's a hint, but MP didnt display roaming using another sim card...

Sorry if all this is irrelevant

In the past I had some of these E1752.
Any of orange.fr, any of orange.uk....but now I no longer
All these were unlocked and voice enabled.
Please read the thread about voice-activation on huawei modem

about AT reset command, maybe that your case (SIM card must have voice plan).
It's strange that "When I talk I can hear myself from the headphones".
Check the volume and mixer in windows setting......
Better if you can avoid roaming...to understand well

                      Good news.
I can confirm e1752 fully support voice feature. (I finally tested it on a vista system).
The reason it didn't work for me is that my computer is too old. Particularly I believe the problem is the lack of a full duplex sound card.

Sorry if anyone interested in this info had to read this far in the thread.

Webmaster should put a [SOLVED] tag on the thread's title. I don know how to do it.

Thanks to all those who offered their help.
