  • Voice calls fail on Huawei E169 (Three Italy)

Hi and thank you in advance for your help,
I have a Huawei E169 branded "Three Italy (3 italia)".
I have unlocked it with DC-Unlocker and update the firmware and the dashboard as suggested.
    Voice feature was already active.
This is dc-unlocker output before and after unlocking/upgrade:

    ================================================== =================

    DC - Unlocker 2 Client 1.00.0546

    Detecting card :

    selection :
    manufacturer - Huawei modems
    model - Auto detect (recommended)

    Found modem : E169
    Model : Huawei E169/E169G
    IMEI : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Firmware : 11.314.13.51.156
    Dashboard version : UTPS11.002.03.25.12_MAC11.110.02.22.12
    Serial NR. : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Voice feature : enabled
SIM Lock status : Locked (Card Lock)
Wrong codes entered : 0 (unlock attempts left : 10)

Now, with the updated mobile partner I see the voice button activated but when I try to make a call, it immediately fails.
I have tried many times with a different SIM, different operator and gsm only band, also with a different PC (Windows XP Pro Sp3), but the results are the same:
in no way I can make a voice call.

NB sms and data connection work flawlessly.

I read that someone had the same problem and that it could be a hardware issue regarding the Three branded E169. Could it be?
Is there anything I can try or must I forget voice calls with my Huawei?

Thank you again for your attention

    Giulio

Firmware version was changed. It may be that this firmware not support voice. Try other firmware.

      Hi,
I tried with firmware versions 11.314.09.50.00.B407 and 11.314.21.31.00.B418 then I put back 11.315.05.00.00.B418 which is the newest I could find... with the same result: voice calls fail immediately without even starting.
      Any suggestions will be appreciated.
      Ciao
      Giulio

On the back it is labelled as "Model: E169 HSDPA USB Stick" and also dc-unlocker identifies it as such:

          ...
          Found modem : E169
          Model : Huawei E169/E169G
          IMEI : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

              Thanks.
To say the truth I found that page before, but I couldn't follow the directions they give regarding voice call (download and run latest firmware/dashboard update from Huawei..) since the link they provide seems dead (http://www.huawei.com/mobileweb/en/d...ype=-1&id=4381).

The newest I could find are the ones I installed:
              Firmware : 11.314.13.51.156
              Dashboard version : UTPS11.002.03.25.12_MAC11.110.02.22.12
